Comedy in Motion: Editing Social Clips for Wondery’s The Big Flop
Collaborating with Wondery to Capture the Funniest Podcast Moments
At Press Play: Creatives, we’re lucky to collaborate with brands that know how to entertain. Wondery’s The Big Flop is all about laughing at history’s biggest blunders, and we had the opportunity to help bring those hilarious moments to life through social video clips. Each guest brought their own comedic style, personality, and energy to the show, and our job was to make sure that energy translated seamlessly into engaging, shareable content.
Jon Lovett
Jon Lovett, best known as a co-host of Pod Save America and a former speechwriter for President Obama, has built a reputation for his sharp political humor and quick wit. His ability to break down political absurdity with biting commentary made him a standout guest on The Big Flop. His episode provided plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and we wanted to highlight how effortlessly he blends intelligence with comedy. His knack for delivering deadpan humor and cutting observations made this clip one of our favorites to work on.
Reggie Watts
Reggie Watts is a multi-talented musician, comedian, and improviser known for his ability to create mind-bending, genre-defying performances. Whether he’s looping vocals into complex soundscapes or riffing on surreal concepts, he always keeps audiences on their toes. His episode on The Big Flop was no exception—his offbeat humor and unexpected twists made this one of the most unique clips we’ve worked on. We wanted to capture the way he seamlessly blends intellectual musings with complete absurdity, leaving viewers both laughing and slightly bewildered.
Corporate Bro
Corporate Bro has made a name for himself satirizing the corporate world with painfully accurate, hilarious depictions of sales culture. His brand of comedy is deeply relatable to anyone who has ever worked in an office, making his Big Flopepisode a goldmine of laughs. His ability to roast corporate jargon and workplace culture gave us plenty to work with, and we wanted to make sure the clip felt just as sharp, cynical, and hilarious as his persona.
Adam Rose
Adam Rose has become a social media favorite thanks to his ability to poke fun at everyday life with a dry, self-aware humor that resonates with a wide audience. From nostalgic throwbacks to quick-witted observations, he knows how to keep people engaged. His episode of The Big Flop leaned into his comedic strengths, and we loved crafting a clip that showcased his signature charm and effortless delivery.
Brian Posehn & Ron Funches
Brian Posehn and Ron Funches are two of the most beloved comedians in the industry, each bringing their own distinct flavor to comedy. Posehn’s dry, self-deprecating humor pairs perfectly with Funches’ warm, optimistic, and slightly mischievous comedic style. Together, they delivered an unforgettable episode of The Big Flop, and their natural chemistry made this clip particularly fun to work on. We wanted to highlight the contrast between Posehn’s grumpy observations and Funches’ lighthearted takes, showcasing why their dynamic is pure comedy gold.
Kel Mitchell
For anyone who grew up watching All That and Kenan & Kel, Kel Mitchell is pure nostalgia. His energy, enthusiasm, and physical comedy have made him a legendary figure in comedy and entertainment. Seeing him bring that same joyful energy to The Big Flop was a treat, and we knew his clip had to feel just as fun, high-energy, and playful as his personality. Working on this one was a reminder of why he’s been making audiences laugh for decades.
The Power of Personality-Driven Comedy
Each of these clips was a chance to celebrate the unique comedic voice of every guest. From the sharp political takes of Jon Lovett to the surreal, mind-expanding humor of Reggie Watts, we aimed to make sure each clip felt tailor-made for the personality behind it. The Big Flop is all about embracing failure in the funniest way possible, and we were thrilled to be part of bringing those moments to life.
